5K, 10K or Half Marathon at Battersea Park, with RunThrough.

Overview

We are taking on Battersea Park with RunThrough on Saturday 14 November. The course is flat and lapped, starting and finishing at the Bandstand, and you can choose the 5K, the 10K or the Half Marathon.

Whether this is your first organised run or you have done a hundred, the aim is the same. Run for a purpose, challenge yourself, run together.

Every KIC runner raises for the centre: for our educational programmes, our youth work, and the running and development of the centre itself.

Getting there

Arrive by 9:30AM. That gives you time to find the event village, check in with the KIC team, confirm your distance and bib, use the toilets, warm up and get to the start without rushing. If you are running the 5K or the 10K, be there by 10AM at the latest.

We will meet as a group before the races and again afterwards for the team photograph. The exact meeting point is confirmed closer to the day, once RunThrough release the final event information.

On the course

RunThrough provide chip-timed results, a themed medal, free race photos, post-race goodies, distance markers, and marshals around the route. The park is lapped, so friends and family can see you at several points.

Do not start too quickly. Race-day excitement makes the first kilometre feel easier than it is.

What to bring

Trainers and socks you have already run in, your race bib and pins, clothing for the weather, water, a pre-race snack, and something warm for afterwards. Half Marathon runners should bring any gels or electrolytes they have already tested in training.

Race day is not the day to try new trainers, new gels or unfamiliar food.

Afterwards

Keep walking once you cross the line, collect your medal and goodies, get some water, and make your way back to the KIC meeting point so we can celebrate together.

Any final instructions from RunThrough take priority over this page.
